Bernie has over 35 years of experience in housing roles. He recently retired from his role as Deputy Chief Executive of Progress Housing Group and Chief Operating Officer of Reside with Progress. A large part of his career has been focused on providing and managing supported housing, working with tenants, care providers and commissioners across the country. 

Bernie has learned a great deal from family members and friends with a learning disability or who are autistic. He believes strongly in everyone’s right to live in a decent, safe and secure home and to have the opportunity to choose where and whom they live with and to have all the support they need to enjoy their independence. Bernie joined Golden Lane Housing’s Board in May 2022. 

In his spare time, Bernie plays golf, enjoys photography and visits the Isle of Arran in Scotland with his family whenever he can.
