We have been working with a range of sector organisations to encourage adaptions in the private rented sector.

The organisations involved in the adaptations guidance for landlords include the NRLA, the UK’s largest membership organisation for private residential landlords, Abode Impact; Accessible PRS; Age UK; Alzheimers Society; Branch Properties Accessibility Specialists; Centre for Ageing Better; Chartered Institute of Housing; Foundations; Golden Lane Housing; Habinteg; Nationwide Foundation; and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists – Specialist Section in Housing.

As the number of privately rented households headed by a person 65 years or older is set to double by 2046 according to the APPG for Housing and Care for Older People, we support the NRLA in launching guidance for landlords to address this ongoing issue. Taking this important step will also expand the number of adapted homes for UK disabled and older renters, helping create an inclusive PRS which works for all.’
