Golden Lane Housing secures accredited status for its approach to inclusivity in the workplace
September 26, 2022
Golden Lane Housing (GLH) is pleased to announce this National Inclusion Week, that it has achieved five Includability Committed Employer stars through the Includability Programme. The stars recognise GLH’s commitment to inclusion factors including colleague wellbeing and diversity. Each star has been verified by an external organisation who specialise in that star’s aim.
Having achieved all five stars, GLH now has Includability Committed Employer status. The stars are:
Diversity and inclusion star – verified by Flex Wellbeing that specialise in equality, diversity and inclusion, and employee wellbeing who award the star to organisations that are genuinely committed to Diversity and Equality. They believe that Diversity and Inclusion should be creative and meaningful whilst improving organisational culture.
Sustainability star – verified by Prosperan, an organisation which supports organisations to unleash their greater purpose for tangible business value, helping them to explore a space where social responsibility and sustainability are reimagined as a competitive advantage using the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and issuing the star to organisations that can show they are making progress or have a net zero focus, staff volunteering, community and charitable support.
Talent management star – verified by Unleashed, a new kind of HR Consultancy that helps organisations be successful by making them more inclusive through their recruitment practices.
Mental health star – verified as part of GLH’s own Gold standard Mental Health Charter membership. The Mental Health Charter aims to provide a flexible and consistent charter to enable all businesses in the UK to access mental health support, provide awareness and training and put in place a structure and systems to support people in the workplace.
Wellbeing star – verified by Outliers Wellbeing, an organisation which works with other organisations to support four key areas of wellbeing – physical, mental, financial and social.
As part of the new star accreditations and Includability membership, GLH will be able to advertise job opportunities through Includability, to reach a diverse pool of candidates. Includability has a vision to make Includability Committed Employer status the benchmark for companies to proudly demonstrate their commitment to creating an inclusive and sustainable workplace culture.
It also means that GLH is committed to treating all employees equitably; we have a zero approach towards discrimination; we provide an accessible, inclusive and equitable recruitment process; we are a sustainable organisation; and we provide a working environment that supports employee’s mental health and wellbeing.
Adele Currie, Director of People and Culture said: “I am extremely proud to have joined a community of employers dedicated to ensuring inclusivity and positive culture is a priority. Golden Lane Housing has the well-being of our colleagues high on the agenda and to have met the standards required for full accreditation is testament to our people and their passion.”
