Adele Currie, people business partner:

“I am so very proud to work for Golden Lane Housing and be recognised in the Top 5 of The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For. This is down to every individual within the teams, and the brilliant managers at all levels. We work hard, we challenge ourselves and we always look for ways to improve. I love the working relationships that exist and that as a collective we support each other in delivering a fantastic housing solution to people with a learning disability.”

Rebecca Allen, receptionist:

“I’ve worked at Golden Lane Housing for six years, it’s a great organisation. I’ve got a learning disability. Right from the start they saw the potential in me; they gave me opportunities to grow and develop in my work and as a person. Everyone is really friendly and people help and support each other. I started on reception doing administration duties and have supported other teams along the way. Now I’m ready for a new challenge. I’ve begun working with housing and development teams to increase my skills so I can apply for other roles within Golden Lane Housing.

I’m a different person to when I first started because I’ve learnt so much and my confidence has grown. Time has flown by. It’s not just about work, it’s the people who work here. Staff have helped and supported me when I’ve needed it – it’s been invaluable and has motivated me to achieve goals.”

Shehzad Hussain, finance analyst:

“GLH is built on the values which are displayed and followed by everyone. The working culture is fantastic as every single employee goes an extra mile to help others. We are a team who always put our tenants first, and strives to give them the best experience they can have. We listen, we discuss and we implement strategies which are beneficial to our tenants.”
