20 acts of kindness
December 3, 2018
To celebrate 20 years of Golden Lane Housing, we are recognising some of the amazing people and organisations we work with by carrying out 20 acts of kindness during the Christmas season.
From 3-24 December we’ve got an exciting range of activities happening across the country.
Some staff are giving to tenants, colleagues or those we work in partnership with and carrying out fundraising activities – we can’t share too much as we want it to be a surprise!
We had a huge response from staff. We work with so many brilliant people and had a hard job choosing only 20 for social media.
Marie Howorth, housing manager explains, “I was asked for suggestions on how to celebrate 20 years of GLH. My idea of 20 small acts of kindness came very easily. Every day I see my colleagues and others go above and beyond to help people with a learning disability. It’s a great way to celebrate what we do and acknowledge the people who we work with.”
John Verge, director says, “It’s a privileged to work for such a fantastic and caring organisation. Over the last 20 years, we’ve helped over 3,500 people find a place to call home alongside working with all the people important in their lives and our partners. Now we provide homes to over 1,900 people with a learning disability across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for making GLH what it is and look forward to sharing my act of kindness in mid-December.”
