Golden Lane Housing, has received £10million of funding from NatWest.
The funding will significantly help our long term growth strategy, bolstering our asset base and supporting further property acquisitions so that we can continue to meet the ever-growing need across the country in providing opportunities for people to live independently at the heart of their communities.
Earlier this year, NatWest announced plans to provide £5bn in funding to support the social housing association sector by the end of 2026. It is hoped the funding will facilitate the delivery of a pipeline of housing across UK social housing projects which are vital to local communities. NatWest is one of the largest lenders to the social housing sector in the UK.
Chief Executive John Verge said “This is an important deal for Golden Lane Housing as the funding we have received will allow us to continue to achieve our vision of providing the individuals we serve with access to good quality housing that meets their needs.
“We want to empower people with a learning disability and autistic people to have authority over where and how they live, and the funding we have received from NatWest is crucial to achieving this. Continued expansion of our property portfolio across England, Wales and Northern Ireland means we can continue to provide access to bespoke housing solutions that are tailored to specific needs.”
Shaeen Azam, Director of Finance and Resources said “This is an exciting time for Golden Lane Housing, the securing of £10m will enable us to achieve our growth ambitions. This deal enhances our ongoing relationship with NatWest who were really supportive in working with us and our treasury advisers Allia C&C Ltd to secure the additional funds”
Golden Lane Housing’s work is closely aligned with campaigns such as the NHS England’s Homes Not Hospitals, which aims to deliver bespoke housing solutions for people with disabilities and autistic people so they can access a lifetime of independence, living in their own home with the benefit of support and in their community. We are also a part of the Learning Disability and Autism Housing Network which is calling for action to address the country’s shortage of housing for people with a learning disability and autistic people.
With an estimated £340million of public and private capital investment needed each year to meet the current demand for specialist housing in the England1, the sector’s long-term sustainability is dependent on financial support from the likes of NatWest.
Dharmesh Patel, Regional Relationship Manager at NatWest said “As a leader in specialist housing provision, NatWest is thrilled to support Golden Lane Housing in their ambitions to acquire further properties and ultimately help more people across the UK. The team at Golden Lane Housing are dedicated to delivering a positive impact within communities and are proactive in their Sustainability Strategy.
“We look forward to seeing the continued good work from the business as they strive to support further individuals to live independent lives.”
