October 7, 2024

A local hero from Macclesfield has gone the extra mile—quite literally—to support a cause close to his heart. Sean Boyle a passionate advocate for inclusive housing, has successfully completed a gruelling 62-mile charity bike ride to raise money for Golden Lane Housing, a leading organisation dedicated to providing quality housing solutions for people with a learning disability and autistic people.

Driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference, Sean embarked on this ambitious ride starting at Salford Quays and cycling through parts of Manchester, Leigh, Haigh Hall, Preston and Wharton to raise awareness and funds for the cause. His efforts have already generated an impressive total of £500 which will go directly toward ensuring people with a learning disability and autistic people have access to good quality, supported housing across the UK.

Speaking after completing the ride, Mr Boyle said:

“I’ve seen first-hand how crucial safe and supported housing is for people with learning disabilities. Golden Lane Housing does incredible work, and I wanted to do my part in giving back. The ride was tough, but knowing I was helping to improve the lives of so many kept me going.”

Golden Lane Housing, which has been providing specialist housing for over 25 years, expressed its deep gratitude for Mr Boyle’s outstanding effort. A spokesperson for Golden Lane Housing, said:

“We are incredibly proud of Sean and thankful for his support. The funds he has raised will help us continue providing vital homes for people with learning disabilities, giving them the opportunity to live independently in a place they can call home.”

Sean hopes his achievement will inspire others to get involved in similar fundraising activities.
