Golden Lane Housing receives half a million pound funding boost from Government sustainability scheme

Golden Lane Housing has received a huge boost in funding to help progress its sustainability strategy (2022 –2025) after securing over £500k of funding from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, as part of The Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, to spend on properties in the South West and North West of the country.

The Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund will fund new “fabric first” measures such as roof and external wall insulation that will lower energy bills and keep homes in the region warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Measures such as heat pumps and other energy upgrades could also be an option for homes that are already well insulated.

John Verge, Chief Executive at Golden Lane Housing, said: “We are pleased to receive this fantastic boost in funding with West of England Combined Authority to help make our homes in the North West and South West regions more environmentally and economically friendly.

“People all over the UK are feeling the impact of the cost of living crisis, and we want to do as much as we can to help our tenants live as efficiently as possible. Funding will be used to help our tenants lower their energy bills, and for their homes to be made more sustainable.

“We look forward to being able to share more about how this funding will be spent and how some of our properties will benefit. We are committed to improving sustainability across Golden Lane Housing.”
